A rain soaked weekend shortened the Ashland Invitational to a one-day event but it didn't dampen Tiffin University's performance on day one of the Ashland Invitational, as TU finished in second place.

The Dragons shot 312, well behind leader Grand Valley State's 293 but also solidly ahead of third place Wittenberg's 323 in the 15 team field at the Ashland Golf Course in Ashland, Ohio.

Sarah Herb got off to a hot start, shooting 74 and finding herself just one stroke off the overall lead. Alice Putoud followed with 78, while Staci Ludwig and Melissa Gabriele both shot 80 to give TU another solid pack score. Emily Koehler was fifth for TU with 84.
