The Tiffin University women's basketball team fell to Cedarville 76-46 in the first conference game of the 2021-22 season.

The Yellow Jackets improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the GMAC, while the Dragons fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the GMAC.

Cedarville jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and kept that lead until they extended their lead to 10 with a 5-0 run to end the first quarter up 20-10.

Tiffin stayed with the Yellow Jackets until they went on a 15-4 run to take a 39-16 lead, midway through quarter number two. Going into halftime Cedarville led 44-19.

A slow start plagued both teams out of the break as only a total of 7 points were scored in the first four minutes of play. The Dragons went on a 6-2 run with three minutes left and ended the quarter down 60-29.

Tiffin outscored the Yellow Jackets in the final quarter 17-16 starting with a 9-5 run to begin the frame, but Cedarville countered with a 7-2 run to lead 72-40.

Tiffin shot 30 percent from the field compared to Cedarville's 50 percent and the Yellow Jackets shot 47.4 percent from three-point range compared to Tiffin's 21.1 percent.

The Dragons' offense was led by Jada Tate with 13 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field and seven rebounds, Brianna O'Conner registered 11 points shooting 4-for-11 from the field, grabbed one rebounds and dished one assist, and Savanah Richards scored seven points shooting 2-for-6, had four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
