Dragons Dominate Lakers For Second Win

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin continued their nonconference slate on Thursday evening hosting Wright State-Lake and running away from the Lakers for a final score of 92-56.

Everybody got off the bench in the game for TU, and all 14 Dragons scored in the winning effort.

A pair of freshman lead the way, as Payton Vogel and Maria Dobson each tallied 13 points. Vogel hit three of the six triples that she took, while Dobson converted a couple and-ones as she had the best game of her young career.

Two other first-year players were next as Kirsten Williams and Jessica Chase poured in 12 points apiece. Chase filled up the stat sheet, also recording three rebounds, four assists, and five steals.

Jasmine Watts added to her blocking numbers, racking up three blocked shots in addition to tying with Jensen Hiegel for the team lead with six rebounds.

The team stats were all in favor of Tiffin, with the Dragons shooting 42.1% to the Lakers' 33.9%, grabbing 54 rebounds compared to 38 form WSU-Lake, and dishing out 21 assists while turning the ball over just 10 times.

Tiffin also outperformed the Lakers in points off turnovers (24-10), points in the paint (54-26), second chance points (22-10), fast break points (19-7), and bench scoring (73-19). 

The Dragons were slow coming out of the gate, falling behind 15-13 at the end of the first quarter. 

The rest of the game was an entirely different story, however, as TU outscored WSU-Lake 35-7 in the second quarter and 79-41 over the rest of the contest.

Tiffin will look to make it a three-game win streak on Saturday when they travel to West Virginia to take on Salem at 2:00 p.m.
