The Tiffin University women's basketball team rolled in their home opener against Urbana University 69-38. The Dragons were dominant in the paint, holding a 47-30 rebounding advantage and a 10 point advantage in points in the paint.

The Blue Knights never led in the game as Tiffin scored the opening four points of the quarter. The Dragons' lead shrank to 10-7 with a little over three minutes left in the quarter, but Tiffin responded with an 8-1 run to close out the quarter with an 18-8 lead.

Tiffin pushed their lead to double digits at the 09:28 mark of the second quarter, but Urbana cut into the lead using a 7-2 run to trail 22-17 with 06:07 remaining before the half. Tiffin stayed hot offensively, finishing the half on a 15-8 run to take a 37-25 advantage to the locker room.

At the break, the Dragons held a 23-14 rebounding margin, and their defense held the Blue Knights to 34.5% shooting from the field. Tiffin connected on 50% of their 1st half shots, with all coming inside the arc. The Dragons were led by Allie Miller with 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting.

The 3rd quarter was all Tiffin as their offense doubled up the Blue Knights 14-7. Urbana cut their deficit to 10 points with 07:38 left in the quarter, and that was as close as they came for the remainder of the contest, as Tiffin outscored the Blue Knights 30-9 from that point on. The Dragons got 10 of their 14 3rd quarter points from the bench, and their rebounding held the Blue Knights to zero 2nd chance points and only two points in the paint.

The 4th quarter was a continuation of the 3rd as Tiffin got 12 bench points and six more points in the paint as the Dragons cruised to a 69-38 victory.

Allie Miller led Tiffin in scoring, pouring in 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting. She also led Tiffin in rebounding with seven boards. Ali Schirmer was efficient from the floor, scoring 15 points on 5 of 9 shooting from the field and a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Annie Santucci scored a career high 14 points off the bench, connecting on 6 of 9 shot attempts.

The Dragons move to 1-2 overall and will be back in action this Saturday as they host Salem International University at 3:00 pm.
