Dragons Fall Short at Walsh

The Tiffin University women's basketball team fought hard against the Cavaliers of Walsh University, but it was not enough as they fell 82-79.

Walsh held a 19-18 lead after a quarter of play, but Tiffin's accuracy from deep kept them within striking distance. The Dragons hit five 3-pointers in the 1st half, scoring 29 points, but allowed the Cavaliers to net 37 1st half points. 

In the 3rd quarter, Tiffin had their worst offensive output of any quarter, scoring 12 points. Walsh cashed in for 18 points in the 3rd, holding a 53-43 lead headed to the final quarter.

The 4th quarter was an offensive explosion for both sides. Tiffin charged hard, netting eight 3-pointers in the final quarter, scoring a season high 36 4th quarter points. In the final minute of the game, Tiffin scored 11 points, but the Cavaliers were able to hold on, defeating Tiffin 82-79.

Bre Nauman was the leader for the Dragons, netting a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ali Schirmer finished with 19 points, Allie Miller added 15 points, and Deidre McKay chipped in with 11 points.

The Dragons fall to 5-13 overall and 3-10 in the GLIAC.
