Dragons swept by Saint Leo

Tiffin University (4-7) had a tough day at the ball park against Saint Leo, falling 11-0 and 9-1 as both games went 5 innings apiece.

In the opener, the Dragons gave up 10 hits and collected none while also managing two walks. The Lions tallied five runs in the second inning and blew the game open with four more in the third.

Starter Tegan Wietrzykowski pitched the opening inning, allowing 5 earned runs. Sarah Klein followed with 1.1 innings of work and 4 earned runs, while Shelbey Spurlock finished up with 1.2 innings and 2 earned runs.

In the nightcap, the Dragons got a run in the first inning but could not shut down the Lions' bats over the following five innings. 

In the first, Taylor Whalen reached on an error at third base that placed her at second base. A passed ball moved her to third, and she came home on Kaylee Savage's sacrifice fly to make it 1-0, TU.

Starter Claire Feldkamp ended up with the loss, lasting 4 innings and allowing 7 earned runs. Libby Schaadt pitched the final 0.1 innings and allowed 2 more earned runs.

TU had one hit in game two, with Maci Head getting a double.
