Jamie Sevenish and the Dragons posted a 5-4 win over Nyack but lost to Wayne State 5-2.

Tiffin University (8-7) split a pair of games on their final day of its Florida trip, defeating Nyack 5-4 with a seventh inning comeback after falling to Wayne State 5-2.

The Dragons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning against Nyack. Chelsey Trusty singled and Libby Crow walked before Brooke Lambert drilled a three-run home run to give a three-run cushion to starter Victoria Edwards.

Nyack picked up an unearned run in the fourth inning but then took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. A two-out triple cleared the bases and put Nyack in the lead 4-3.

Tiffin refused to be denied, however. In the seventh, Jamie Sevenish laid down a bunt single while Crow reached on a fielder's choice. Lambert reached on an error at second base to load the bases, and Heidi Marshall hit a clutch two-out single to give TU two runs and a 5-4 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh.

Sarah Klein entered for the save. With a runner on second and one out, she proceeded to fan the final two Nyack batters for the save.

Edwards picked up the win, tossing 6 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 11 hits with 6 strikeouts.

Chelsey Trusty and Abbey Zedaker had two hits apiece, while Lambert hit a three-run homer. Marshall also tallied two RBIs.

Against Wayne State, the Warriors scored three times in the top of the first after the first batter struck out, putting TU in a hold early. But the Dragons threatened in the bottom of the frame.

TU had two runners on in the 1st with one out as Jamie Sevenish reached on an error and Brooke Lambert singled off the pitcher, but the Dragons could not get the runners home.

Sevenish had a leadoff infield single in the 3rd. She then went to second on a wild pitch, moved to third on a ground out by Lambert and scored on a double to center by Hayley Kobie.

TU threatened again in the fourth inning. Gabrielle Hess had a leadoff single followed by Alexis Savage reaching on a fielding error by the pitcher.  After a pop out, Sevenish advanced both runners with a ground out. Heidi Marshall walked on four pitches to load the bases but Lambert grounded out.

The first two Warriors in the 5th singled, with a run scoring on throwing error by pitcher Sarah Klein on a sacrifice bunt. A sacrifice fly made the score 5-1, Warriors.

Savage had a leadoff walk in the 6th, and was followed by pinch-hitter Abbey Zedaker's shot down the left field line for a double.  Savage scored on a ground out by Sevenish. The next two batters popped out, stranding Zedaker at third in the last scoring chance for the Dragons.

Sarah Klein (4-4) went the distance for Tiffin and allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits.  Klein struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Five different TU batters had one hit apiece.
