Dragons dominate in pair of wins

Tiffin University (5-3) had the offense working in a pair of victories to start off their Florida trip, beating U-Sciences 12-3 and St. Rose 8-0 in 6 innings.

A 7-run 2nd inning highlighted TU's win over USciences, as TU banged out 16 hits. Libby Crow opened the frame with a triple and then scooted home on a throwing error by the shortstop. Tiffin then loaded the bases on an Abbey Zedaker single, Chloe Swaisgood walk, and Chelsey Trusty hit by pitch. Jamie Sevenish then squeezed home a run with a sacrifice bunt, and another run came home on Heidi Marshall's subsequent single.

Brooke Lambert kept the train moving with a bunt single for another RBI, followed by a single from Hayley Kobie for another run. Gabrielle Hess got a sacrifice fly for another RBI, and Crow brought it full circle as Tiffin batted around, getting another single for an RBI for Tiffin's seventh run of the frame.

After USciences got three runs in the fifth inning, Tiffin held a 7-3 lead heading to the sixth inning. The Dragons tacked on three more runs in the inning, all with two outs. Sevenish walked and Marshall followed with a single but an error in center field allowed Sevenish to come around and score. Lambert then doubles for another run, and Hess singled to give TU their third run.

Tiffin capped off their offensive attack in the seventh inning with two more runs. After Kirsten Georges singled and stole second, Sevenish moved her over with a bunt single. Marshall then singled to drive in both runs.

Victoria Edwards got the win on the mound, allowing just 5 hits in 7 innings while fanning 6 and walking just one. 

Lambert had 4 hits with a double for 2 RBI, while Marshall had a three-hit day for 3 RBI. 

Sevenish, Kobie, Crow, and Hess all had two hits apiece, with Crow getting a triple and Hess getting 2 RBI.

TU also beat St. Rose 8-0 in six innings. No details are available at this time.
