Tiffin University (1-1) bounced back from an opening 9-2 loss to Indianapolis with a late 3-2 victory against Missouri S&T, pulling off the win in the bottom of the seventh inning.

With the score tied 2-2, Hayley Kobie got a leadoff single, with Heidi Marshall reaching on an error by the catcher during a sacrifice attempt. Gabrielle Hess then walked to load the bases, and Kaylee Savage came through with her own walk to give TU the win.

Tiffin had started the game with two runs in the third inning. Kobie was hit by a pitch and then sacrificed to second. Hess followed with a RBI double and came home herself on Chloe Swaisgood's single to make it 2-0, TU.

MST evened it up in the sixth inning. After scoring one run on a Dragons error, starting pitcher Sarah Klein came out of the game. Victoria Edwards entered with the bases loaded and nobody out. She pitched out of the jam, however, only allowing a sacrifice fly and keeping TU in the game to set up the seventh inning victory

Edwards got the win in relief, tossing two shutout innings with a strikeout. Klein also pitched well, going 5 innings and allowing just one earned run on 4 hits.

Kobie and Swaisgood had two hits apiece, while Hess had the lone extra base hit with a double.

In the opener, TU fell to UIndy 9-2, as 10 walks gave the Greyhounds plenty of scoring opportunities. The Dragons allowed runs in all but one inning.

Trailing 2-0 in the second, TU got a run back when Marshall walked and moved to second on a sacrifice. Chelsey Trusty then singled her home to make it 2-1.

TU kept trying to claw back into the game as the innings moved on. Down 5-1 in the fifth inning, Jamie Sevenish singled and stole second. After a Brooke Lambert single, an error at shortstop gave TU another run to make it 5-2.

Indianapolis, however, got four more runs in the fifth and sixth innings to push their lead to 9-2. The Dragons continued to get chances, as they collected 10 hits on the day with 8 of the 9 lineup spots getting hits. TU had two runners on in both the sixth and seventh innings but could not manage any further runs.

Edwards took the loss, tossing 6 innings and fanning 6 but allowing 8 earned runs with 10 walks.

Marshall had 2 hits. All of TU's 10 hits were singles.
