TU scores 23 runs, allows 3 hits in sweep of Battlers

Tiffin University (10-11) continued their hot hitting this week, blasting past Alderson Broaddus in five innings 9-0 and 14-0.

TU allowed a total of 3 hits in the twinbill. Kimmy Reynolds tossed a one-hitter in the nightcap, going 4 innings while fanning 5. Faith Bogard pitched the final inning, fanning two of her three batters.

Gabrielle Hess had an enormous game, drilling two doubles and a bomb for 6 RBI. The action started in the first inning when TU scored 7 runs. Alayna Lytle walked and Brooke Lambert singled before Hess doubled for 2 RBI. An error in right field allowed in another run before Lindsay Graves doubles for another run. After April Bennett reached on a fielder's choice, Ally Rock singled for an RBI. After Libby Crow walked, Jamie Sevenish brought the scoring to a close with a 2 RBI single.

The Dragons continued the offensive assault in the third inning. Bennett doubled and was sacrificed to third. Crow's fielder's choice got the run home and was followed by Sevenish's walk and Lytle's single to load the bases. After Lambert's sacrifice fly plated a run, Hess came up with another primetime hit, a double for 2 RBI.

In the fourth inning a bases loaded fielder's choice got TU another run, while Hess finished the night off in grand fashion in the fifth inning. She blasted a two run home run following an Emily Williams' walk.

Overall Lambert had two hits with a double, while Graves and Bennett also had doubles. 

In the opener, Tiffany Snell got the win, going 4 innings and allowing 2 hits. Bennett also pitched a perfect inning.

TU did all its damage in the second and fourth innings. In the second, Hess stroked a double, Graves singled and Amanda Rock was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Chelsea Trusty then singled for 2 RBI. Crow then singled for another run. A Sevenish bunt single loaded the bases again. With two outs, Lambert singled to drive in two more runs.

In the fourth, Crow reached third on a center field error and Sevenish walked and then stole second. Lytle then cranked a double for 2 RBI. Lambert followed with a double and came home on Hess's sacrifice fly to finish the scoring.

Lambert had 2 hits with a double for 3 RBI, while Graves also had 2 hits.
