Tiffin University (14-19, 1-7 GLIAC) struggled through their doubleheader at Grand Valley State, managing just 3 singles in a 1-0 8-inning loss in game one before falling 11-3 in 5 innings in game two.

In the opener, Kimmy Reynolds took the tough loss, going 7.2 innings and allowing just one earned run with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks while allowing 6 hits.

TU's offense was stymied, as no Dragons player reached scoring position. Grand Valley State won the game on a walkoff home run with two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning.

In game two, errors killed the Dragons, as 3 errors led to 6 unearned runs. The Lakers benefited from big innings, tallying 5 unearned runs in the 2nd inning and putting TU away with 3 runs in the top of the 5th.

After an error led to two runs crossing the plate in the top of the first inning, TU bounced back to score two unearned runs of their own. Jamie Sevenish singled followed by a bunt single by Libby Crow. An error on the play let Sevenish score. Crow came around to score on Samantha Ringwalt's groundout to the pitcher to tie the score at 2-2.

After GVSU jumped ahead 7-2 with 5 unearned runs, the Dragons got a run back in the fourth inning. Sierra Besser-Paul doubled and came home on Brooke Lambert's single.

After the Lakers tallied 3 runs in the top of the 5th, the Dragons needed to get at least one run to keep the game going. They put together a single, two stolen bases and a hit batter but could not get the run home as they fell 11-3.

Tiffany Snell took the loss in game two, lasting 1.1 innings and allowing 7 runs (1 earned). Savannah Chalfant gave up 3 earned runs in 2.2 innings of work, while April Bennett also allowed an earned run over her inning of work.

Jamie Sevenish had 2 hits while Besser-Paul added a double.
