Ngandu wins opening cross country meet

James Ngandu picked up in 2016 where he left off last season, winning his season debut at the Back to the Nature Preserve Cross Country Invitational hosted by Bluffton University.

Ngandu led the men, who finished 6th of 9 teams. He crossed the line in first in a time of 18:45.72, but the next Dragon to cross the line was Trentan Yoder in 39th place (20:51.83).

Christopher McKown was 45th, followed by Nigel Carlton (55th) and Isaac Boateng (75th).

The women's squad finished 7th of 8 teams. They were led by Kimea Lawrence's 11th place finish in 20:07.75. Kaitlyn Mathews was next in 40th place in 21:21.31.

Sydney Schmidt was 54th, Jada Gilliam took 60th, and Alyse Dietz crossed the line in 62nd place.
