Men's Track and Field team excels on day two of GMAC Championships

With eight events scored, Tiffin University's men's outdoor track and field squad were in second place at the GMAC Championships.

Findlay led the way with 103 points while Tiffin had 48. Walsh was third with 42.

The Tiffin University men's track and field team had several standouts on day two of the GMAC Championship meet.

Josiah Gadson became GMAC Champion in the Decathlon as he tallied 6155 points.

Nathaniel Ondracek was runner-up in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:20.07.

Malachi Adams took first in the prelims of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.51 that hit an NCAA DII Provisional mark. Adams also qualified for the 200-meter dash final with a prelim time of 21.74.

Anthony Nickerson had the fastest time in the 800-meter prelims with a time of 1:53.08.

Two athletes qualified for the 110 hurdles as Dean Johnson had the third-fastest time at 14.79 and teammate AJ Neal nabbed the last spot with a time of 15.41.

In the 400 hurdle prelims, Dean Johnson was fourth with a time of 56.88.

Collin Jasin came in fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.81 meters and teammate Cade Carter was sixth with a mark of 4.66 meters.

Zachary Antonio finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.74 meters.

The Dragons had two top ten finishers in the discus as Benedict Draghi came in fourth with a throw of 49.73 meters and Jacob McPherson was sixth with a mark of 48.50 meters.

Garrett Hoepf came in seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters.

The championships conclude on May 6.
