Steve Livoti has announced his retirement from coaching, departing from the coaching staff of Tiffin University's nationally-ranked track and field program.

Livoti coached for 10 seasons as an assistant coach for the track squad, working primarily with hurdlers and sprinters. While coaching at TU, he helped many athletes reach the national championships. He worked directly with 76 national qualifier positions and indirectly with 23 national qualifier positions. He coached 48 All-Americans including the NCAA Division II Indoor National Champion in the 60 meter and 200 meter dash. All men's and women's indoor and outdoor hurdles records, with the exception of the men's 400 meter hurdles, were broken during his tenure at TU. While at Tiffin University, the men's indoor track and field team won the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Division II National Championship, while the outdoor team saw success as well, finishing 2nd overall at the 2016 and 3rd in the 2017 Outdoor Division II National Championship.

"We will miss Coach Livoti!" said Head Coach Jeremy Croy. "He was always the first one in the door for practice, competitions and other functions. His work and travel experience was unparalleled and his personality unmatched. The Livoti legacy is ingrained forever in TUTF!"

"I have enjoyed having Steve as a staff member of the Tiffin University Track Program. He has always been willing to lend a hand and was always so approachable. I know that he will stay in touch as he is a true Dragon," said Athletic Director Lonny Allen.

"Steve was an integral part of our two National titles and the growth of our program over his ten years at TU," said Assistant Coach Ray Robinson. "He was reliable, prompt, professional and energetic in his service of Tiffin Track and Field. Steve was a father-like figure to our staff. He was always good for advice and great for a laugh! Livoti leaves a lasting legacy here at TU. We look forward to his friendship and support throughout his retirement!"

"The positive energy that Steve brought to the program was a clear difference maker during my time at Tiffin University," said Gray Horn, Interim Head Coach at UC-Santa Barbara. "Never have I had a more consistent, reliable, passionate work colleague. He loved what he did, and the athletes loved him."

"After climbing the TU mountain, you can finally enjoy the view," said Fermon Tate, Head Track and Field Coach at Alcorn State University.

"Always dependable, hard working, and consistent. He'll be missed," said Assistant Coach Dennis Martin.

"Steve was a great mentor and friend I had the pleasure of working with during my time at Tiffin University," said Jonathan Graupmann, Assistant Coach, Fort Hays State. "Steve was a constant example of profound professionalism and class to the student-athletes and campus community at Tiffin University. Steve Livoti will be truly missed. Enjoy your retirement."
