Davis Bowers and Cameron Burrows have been named First Team Google Cloud Academic All District IV.

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

The Dragons accounted for two of the three G-MAC athletes selected to the list with Malone's George McCartney being the other.

Bowers and Burrows both earned the same honor last season, when they went on to grab Academic All American status.

Burrows, a junior from Sandusky, Ohio, had a stunning 2018-19 season. He earned his seventh All American honor in track and field, finishing 3rd at the NCAA Indoor National Championships and 5th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump. His third place mark also equaled the school record in high jump. He earned five All Midwest Region honors from the USTFCCCA (indoor heptathlon, high jump, long jump, outdoor high jump, long jump), and was also a First Team All G-MAC selection in both indoor and outdoor seasons. He was named G-MAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Meet and won outdoor championships in the high jump and long jump. He also was G-MAC indoor champion in the high jump. He earned his third consecutive outdoor NCAA appearance in the high jump and was ranked 3rd in the nation. He also sports a 3.81 GPA and is a multiple All Academic selection.

Bowers, meanwhile, made his fifth National Championships appearance in the pole vault and earned his third All-American honor with a sixth place finish. Bowers is a USTFCCCA All Midwest Region selection and was a Second Team G-MAC honoree in the outdoor season. He earned Third Team All G-MAC honors for the indoor season. Bowers also was named G-MAC Field Athlete of the Week earlier this season.
