Jackson Claims All-American Honors to Lead Tiffin on Day Two

KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Tiffin track & field men earned another All-American honor at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday, as Eric Jackson placed seventh in the discus.

After a foul on his second attempt, the junior needed a big throw to advance to the final and earn a shot at a top-eight finish. He came through in the clutch, posting a mark of 53.14 meters to advance to the final. That mark would hold as his best in the event, and was good enough to finish seventh amongst a strong field.

The All-American honor is the first in the discus of Jackson's career and third overall as he also notched top-eight finishes in the shot put at the 2017 Outdoors and 2018 Indoors.

Tiffin had two other men compete in preliminaries on Friday. Lamar Hargrove ran in the 200m and finished 22nd with a time of 22.41, while Errik Snell placed 19th in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.57.

The men are in 23rd with 5.5 points after two days, but have multiple chances to score more points on the last day tomorrow with Jonte Baker (100m), Cameron Burrows (high jump), the 4x100 squad, and the trio of Jabari Bennett, Nikolas Curtiss, and Jackson (shot put) all set to compete in finals.
