Jonte Baker and Jabari Bennett have been named G-MAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

It was a clean sweep for Tiffin as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards were announced on Monday afternoon by the league.

Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Jonte Baker

The Dragons hosted the Tiffin Dragon Open and Baker dashed his way into the conference record books once again. The speedster won the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter race to clock more provisional standards.

Baker crossed the line in the 60-meter dash in 6.81 and he now owns the top three times in Great Midwest history in the event.

His overall record was a 6.76 at the SVSU Holiday Open earlier this year. That time remains tied for second in all of Division II this year.

Baker then won the 200-meter race with a time of 22.54, a crowded field with 55 total competitors on the track.

Baker earned his second conference weekly track athlete honor for Tiffin this season.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Jabari Bennett

The Great Midwest boasts four of the top five throwers nationally in the shot put, with the rookie Bennett establishing himself among the elite in his first year at the college level.

Bennett has been a specialist in the event for the Dragons, competing in shot put only in the Tiffin Alumni Open, Oiler Opener and Tiffin Dragon Open.

While his season best came in the Oiler Opener, Bennett won the event with a toss of 18.10 meters (59' 4.75") in his second attempt. He beat out teammate Nikolas Curtiss, who is ranked third in the NCAA DII in shot put.

Bennett remains second all-time in the conference record books and only trails Findlay's senior Eldred Henry, who was national athlete of the week just last week.
