Errik Snell and Nikolas Curtiss have been named G-MAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

The Dragons hosted many programs at the Tiffin Alumni Open over the weekend to kick off the season while several other Great Midwest schools also debuted.

A handful of provisional marks were also recorded as teams look to eventually qualify their student-athletes for nationals in the new calendar year.

Not very many across the country posted provisional-qualifying times in the 60-meter hurdles, but Snell burst out of the gates with the third-best time in Division II.

The senior speedster clocked an 8.06 in the preliminaries, currently ranking fifth in conference history among the company of recent greats like Malone's star national qualifier Ashton Dulin.

Snell hovered right around the same time in the finals, where he finished runner-up in the field with a time of 8.07 seconds.

Snell also tied for sixth (out of 32) in the 300-meter run while tying for first in his heat with a time of 36.54 seconds.

Curtiss made an instant splash in the throws cage, putting himself in national championship territory with an auto-qualifying mark in the shot put in his first meet of the year.

Curtiss is only second to 2018 NCAA Indoor champion Austin Combs of Findlay following his attempt of 18.26m (59'11").

Not surprisingly, Curtiss' distance currently ranks first in all of NCAA Division II through the first weekend of competition.

He also placed fourth in the weight throw among a standout group of throwers in the event, including teammates Toryko Grace, Tristen Durr, Jabari Bennett and Kyle Stump
