To honor the third place finish by the Men's Outdoor Track and Field team at the NCAA Division II National Outdoor Championships held at Charlotte, North Carolina May 24-26, a Celebration Week will be held from June 4-8 to honor their top accomplishments.

The Dragons trailed national champion TAMU-Kingsville (65 points) and Ashland (51), totaling 50 points at the event. The finish continued a run of excellence over the last three years that has included a second place and two third place finishes at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships and 37 All American Outdoor citations over that period.

Today's honorees are Vincent Vogel and Jalon Monigan. Vogel landed First Team All American honors in the long jump, while Monigan did the same in the triple jump.

Vogel, who also earned First Team All American honors in the long jump during the indoor season, duplicated his indoor effort with another 7th place finish in the long jump. His mark of 7.47 meters was just .10 meters off his seed distance, and he also led the Midwest Region in the event.

Monigan, meanwhile, finished third in the nation in triple jump, posting a leap of 15.70 meters. He was the top seeded participant entering the finals, and also led the region during the outdoor season. He was a Second Team All American in the same event in the indoor season, finishing 11th.
