Dragons finish 3rd at NCAA Championships

Tiffin University's men's track and field team finished 3rd overall at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, duplicating their finishs from 2017.

Tiffin battled throughout the day, hanging near the top and climbing to second with one event remaining before falling to third by one point. TAMU-Kingsville won the title with 65 points, while Ashland won the 4x400 relay to finish with 51 points. Tiffin totaled 50.

Tiffin's 4x100 relay team finished 2nd in their race, missing the championship by just .12 seconds. The team of Duane Boyd, Michael King, Jonte Baker, and Reginald Thomas blazed across the line in 39.83.

Baker and Thomas continued to garner points for the Dragons in the 100 meter dash, with Baker finishing 5th in 10.36 and Thomas 7th in 10.54.

Nikolas Curtiss got another 2nd place finish for TU in the shot put, putting a distance of 18.75 on the board. Eric Jackson finished 14th in the event with 16.93.

Jalon Monigan continued with the strong finishes, finishing 3rd in the triple jump with 15.70 meters, while James Ngandu brought home a 4th place mark in the 5000 meters in 14:04.85.

Davis Bowers also competed in the pole vault, finishing 14th.
