Bowers hits automatic qualifying mark as TU competes at Walsh

Tiffin University's men's track and field squad had another strong day at the Walsh Invitational, with Davis Bowers leading the way.

Bowers hit an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault, clearing the bar with 5.19 meters. His was one of four marks hitting NCAA standards.

Hitting provisional marks were Eric Jackson in the discus with a first-place toss of 51.54 meters, while Mackenzi Rickman also won the 110 hurdles with a provisional mark of 14.12. The 4x100 relay squad also won their event with a NCAA mark of 40.46.

Reginald Thomas also won the 100 meters with a time of 10.62, followed closely by Jonte Baker in 10.74. Stephen Korir gave TU another champion, this time in the 3000 steeplechase in 9:23.84.

Other top placers included Michael King (2nd in 200 in 21.51) and Cameron Burrows (3rd in high jump with 1.99 meters).
