Tiffin University competed at the Jet's Pizza Invitational hosted by Saginaw Valley State University, with the men's team hitting 5 provisional marks on day one.
Vincent Vogel won the long jump with a leap of 7.31 meters, hitting an NCAA provisional mark. Jonte Baker also posted the top time in the 60 meter dash prelims, crossing the line in 6.87 seconds for another NCAA mark.
TU had two provisional times in the 60 meter hurdles, with Errik Snell finishing 3rd in 8.21 and Mackenzi Rickman taking 6th in 8.24 as both runners reach the finals. Toryko Grace also hit a provisional mark in the weight throw, finishing 4th with 18.77 meters.
Also finishing 2nd on day one was the DMR squad of Stephen Korir, Chance Abbitt, Nigel Carlton, and James Ngandu with a time of 10:09.10.
Competition will continue on Jan. 27.
