Tiffin men's track ranked 2nd in the nation

Tiffin University's men's track and field squad are ranked 2nd in the nation, as the latest USTFCCCA Division II national and regional rankings came out.

The Dragons trailed only Colorado Mines in the standings, with Colorado Mines totaling 238.22 while TU had 135.20. Ashland was third with 128.67, while Grand Valley State had 121 for fourth. Findlay gave the GLIAC four teams in the top 6 with a 6th place finish.

TU had six athletes ranked in the top six of seven different events nationally. James Ngandu has the nation's top time in the 5000 with 13:57.54. Cameron Burrows appears in two categories - 3rd in the high jump with 2.12 meters and 5th in the heptathlon with 5240 points. 

Dylan Cornwell was 2nd nationally in the pole vault with 5.10 meters while Davis Bowers joined him with the 6th best vault (5.00). Reginald Thomas holds the 4th best time in the 60 meters with 6.76, while Eric Jackson is also 4th in the shot put with 18.04 meters.

Regionally the Dragons have even more standouts. Ngandu, Thomas, and Cornwell are all top ranked in the Midwest Region, while Burrows, Bowers, and Jackson are second in their respective events.

Other standouts include the DMR team of Korir, Boateng, Runco, and Yoder (2nd), Jalon Monigan (3rd in triple jump), Kevin Roberts (2nd in triple jump, 5th in long jump), Errik Snell (4th in 60 hurdles), Burrows (5th in pole vault, 6th in long jump), Nikolas Curtiss (6th in shot put), Shaquille Hildreth (7th in 200), Toryko Grace (8th in weight throw), and the 4x400 relay team of Abbitt, Monigan, Lynn, and Lavendar (7th).
