Dragons clinch share of GMAC title with 6-1 win

Tiffin University (16-7, 5-1 GMAC) earned a share of the GMAC regular season title with a 6-1 win over Cedarville.

The title marks the second regular season title for the Dragons since joining the GMAC, as they last earned the mark in 2019. 

TU got off on the right foot by winning three close doubles matches. Michael Gurtner/Matthew Telford won the tightest match of the day 7-6 (7-2), while Ruben Fonga/Matthew Weaver edged out a 7-5 win. Cyrille Colomb/Gabriel de Oliveira also gutted out a 6-4 victory.

In singles play, Tiffin's five singles wins were all in straight sets. Fonga won 6-2, 6-2, Gurtner dominated 6-2, 6-1, and Telford won the closest singles match 6-4, 6-4. Colomb enjoyed a 6-3, 6-2 win, while Daniel Martinez Roca also won 6-3, 6-3. TU's lone loss came at sixth singles in a tough three-set match, where Mattia Colli fell 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
