Men's Tennis Claims GMAC Regular Season Title

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - With a 4-0 win over Davis & Elkins on Friday, Tiffin men's tennis finished the season with a perfect 6-0 GMAC record to win the conference regular-season championship in their first year in the league.

The Dragons will now enter the GMAC Championships as the top seed, with the postseason taking place April 26-27 in Owensboro, Ky.

This afternoon, TU swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Toby Cutting and Nikita Parfenov had a tight, 7-5 win in the No. 1 position, followed by Gabriel de Oliveira and Tom Arias picking up a 6-4 win at No. 2. Hugo Chatras and Sorin Navrotchi had the easiest time with their match, winning No. 3 6-0.

In singles, Parfenov got things going at No. 1 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Navrotchi followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2, and then Cutting clinched the victory for the Dragons with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3.
