Tiffin University (8-10, 1-3 GLIAC) chased Grand Valley State throughout the match but came up just short, falling to the Lakers 5-4.
The Dragons trailed after doubles play 2-1, with Toby Cutting/Tom Arias posting the lone TU win 8-2. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez fell in the closest match 8-5 while Sorin Navrotchi/Nikita Parfenov lost 8-3.
Ludena posted a strong singles win 6-4, 6-1, while Arias added a 7-6, 6-2 win and Navrotchi won 6-4, 6-3 at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. But the Dragons could not pick up one more victory, as Santiago de la Rosa Mora and Parfenov both fell 6-3, 6-2 and Cutting lost 6-3, 6-3.
