Lukas Jachno

Lukas Jachno enters his second season as Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Tiffin University in 2019-20.

In his first season at the helm of Tiffin swimming & diving in 2018-19, Jachno oversaw great success with 11 members (10 men's, 1 women's) making All-GMAC squads, including Swimmer/Freshman of the Year Miguel Garcia Arroyo. First Team diver Nicholas Jefferson also qualified for the NCAA Championships in March. Under Jachno's direction, the men and women won 15 total events at the GMAC Swimming & Diving Championships, with Garcia Arroyo earning Swimmer/Freshman of the Meet, Jefferson receiving Men's Diver of the Meet, Diamond Boyer earning Women's Diver of the Meet, and Jachno himself named Men's Coach of the Year as the men's program took second as a team.

Jachno had served since 2015 as Assistant Swim Coach at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana.

Jachno, who earned a Bachelor's of Business Management in Sport Management in May 2015 from Ashland University, joined the Spartans' coaching staff in October 2015.

Prior to coming to MU, he had served as a coach for ages 6-17 for the University Sports Club of Prague in the Czech Republic for two years (2008, 2009). Among his numerous administrative duties in the role, Jachno evaluated stroke techniques of swimmers, specializing in the freestyle and butterfly events.

Jachno, a native of Jindrichuv Hradec in the Czech Republic, was a swimmer at Gymnazium Olympijsk school. He was Czech national champion in the 1500 free and was a member of the Czech national open team and a European championships participant. He was also a world championships qualifier before coming to Ashland University.
