Dragons pick up dual win 157-45 over Urbana

Tiffin University dominated Urbana in its dual swim meet on the road, picking up a 157-45 victory.

Jonah Sumfleth picked up three individual victories, taking the 100 backstroke in 52.55, the 50 freestyle in 22.14, and the 200 backstroke in 1:57.03.

Yun Hung Tan also got three wins, placing first in the 100 butterfly in 51.80, the 200 free in 1:51.31, and the 200 butterfly in 1:59.16.

Christoph Hohenfeld had two victories. He won the 1000 free in 10:10.22 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:11.60, while also teaming with Aaron Pirnstill, Nathan Marr, and Aubin Dulin to win the 400 free relay in 3:31.44.

Other first place marks went to Dulin in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.74, Miguel Garcia in the 200 IM in 2:00.29, and Joseph Turley in the 500 free in 5:16.74.

Runner-up marks went to Marr (100 backstroke in 1:00.61, 1000 free in 10:44.27), Garcia (100 butterfly in 51.95, 200 breaststroke in 2:12.77), Nick De Robles (200 IM in 2:10.10, 200 backstroke in 2:17.71), and Hohenfeld (200 butterfly in 2:02.72).

In addition, diver Jordan Wright competed in at Wooster College, as Urbana does not have diving boards. He posted a score of 293.75, which supasses the NCAA qualifying points score of 285.00. With this score he qualified for what is called Black Tuesday, where all the contestants passing the 285.00 score will be competing for placement in the NCAA Championship and top 18 men and 22 women will continue to dive in the actual NCAA Championships. He also broke the school record with his performance.
