Tiffin University fell to Ohio Valley on penalty shots in the Second Round of the Midwest Regional.

Tiffin University (15-4-1, 12th ranked in NCAA Division II) could not come up with a key second half goal, as Ohio Valley equalized and then advanced to the Third Round of the Midwest Regional on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw (4-1 penalty kicks).

Ironically, the Dragons scored their lone goal of the day on a penalty kick, as Joel Daly knocked in a shot in the 37th minute to put TU up 1-0 at the half.

The wind, blowing north throughout the game, seemed to help the Fighting Scots in the second half, as they stayed on the offensive and posted a 14-4 shot edge in the next 45 minutes. They finally equalized in the 80th minute when Julian Veloza headed home a shot redirected off a corner kick to send the game to overtime.

The Dragons could not crack the OVU defense, managing 4 shots over the final 65 minutes and no shots in either overtime period. After the Dragons held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks at the half, OVU bounced back to hold a 9-0 edge in corners over the remainder of the game.

In the shootout, Ohio Valley shot first and connected on their four attempts. Tiffin's first PK hit the post, and their third shot was stopped by goalkeeper Jason Leon as OVU won the shootout 4-1.

Ohio Valley will now advance to Hays, Kansas to take on Saginaw Valley State in the Third Round of the Midwest Regional.
