McKnight, Daly named G-MAC Players of the Week

Ramiesh McKnight and Joel Daly swept the G-MAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors.

With the league championship concluded, final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week honors for both sides of the ball were announced on Monday.
 
Top-seeded Tiffin capped a remarkable run in its first Great Midwest playoff appearance with a regular-season conference title, the tournament trophy and an automatic qualifier into the Midwest Region tournament. 
 
The Dragons are ranked third in the Midwest Region, No. 22 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and are 15-4-0 going into the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional.
 
Tiffin defeated No. 3 seed Ohio Valley in the conference championship final, 1-0, at Heidelberg University on Saturday.

Scoring the lone goal in the final game of the Great Midwest postseason tournament, McKnight helped propel the Dragons to their first G-MAC title. McKnight's stellar performance in the tournament included an assist in the semifinal rally over No. 5 Lake Erie and the game-winning goal in the title game.
 
In Thursday's semi-final game, McKnight took three shots, and provided the assist to Andrew Nmah to tie the game in the 82nd minute and send the game into overtime.
 
McKnight was the only player who could find the back of the net during Saturday's G-MAC title contest. McKnight's 10th goal of the season came just before halftime in the 43rd minute of play. 
 
McKnight is fourth in the league for shots (53) and is tied for fourth place with 10 goals this season.
 
He is also tied for second with four game-winning goals. He was a second team all-conference selection by the coaches and a two-time winner of weekly conference accolades.

Daly's performance, especially as a freshman contributor, was critical to Tiffin's success in the Great Midwest Championship title run.
 
Daly played in all 183 minutes during the semifinal and championship games and helped hold the highest scoring offense in the league (Ohio Valley) scoreless.
 
During Tiffin's 3-2 victory over Lake Erie, Daly took three shots, all of which were on frame.
 
He is now a two-time recipient of conference weekly defensive honors this season.
