It may not have started how Tiffin University's men's soccer team wanted, but it certainly finished that way.
The Dragons (3-1, 1-1 GMAC) allowed a goal in the 5th minute but responded with a furious barrage of shots over the next 85 minutes, eventually beating Lake Erie 5-1 to get their first conference win of the season.
Lake Erie drilled a shot from 35 yards out that ricocheted off the left post and into the goal to take a quick 1-0 lead. Tiffin equalized in the 16th minute when Ramiesh McKnight took a cross from Leo Hasenstab and headed it home to make it 1-1.
The onslaught started shortly thereafter, and Hasenstab was again in on the action. He hit Abdoul Magid Sy with a long cross from the right side to make it 2-1 in the 28th minute.
Andrew Nmah then got his first goal of the season in the 35th minute, taking the ball and breaking away down the middle of the field before burying a shot in the left side of the net to make it 3-1 at the half.
The Dragons held a 11-3 shot advantage at the break and did not let up in the second half. Sy got his second goal of the game in the 48th minute on a pass from Malik Suleman. The two reversed roles in the 68th minute, when Suleman hit home a left foot strike from the top of the box on a pass from Sy to finish the scoring.
Overall TU outshot the Storm 21-7, with 9 shots on goal. They also held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks, and did not allow a corner kick to Lake Erie in the second half.
Dylan Morris got the win in goal, making 3 saves in 77 minutes. Cary Wilson finished in goal over the final 13 minutes.
