Dragons drop first game in double overtime 3-2

Tiffin University (2-1) suffered its first setback of 2018, failing to hold two leads and falling 3-2 in double overtime at Cedarville.

The Dragons fell despite outshooting the Yellow Jackets 22-14 and holding a 10-3 edge in corner kicks. The game was lost in the 106th minute when Cedarville's Levi Haight scored the Yellow Jackets' second penalty kick goal in the game for the victory.

Tiffin first got on the board in the 5th minute when Ramiesh McKnight took the ball away in the back and hit a low shot into the goal from 12 yards out. 

The Dragons held the lead until 19 seconds remained in the first half, when Cedarville was awarded a penalty kick that tied the game 1-1 at the half.

Tiffin regained the lead late in the second half, as Darren Appanah had a shot deflect off a defender from 15 yards out to give TU a 2-1 lead.

The Yellow Jackets responded immediately, scoring a minute later on a cross from 12 yards out that sent the game to overtime.

Tiffin had two shots in the first overtime period but neither was on goal. In the second overtime TU had two more shots that were blocked before CU was awarded the game-ending penalty shot.

TU also held a 8-4 edge on shots on goal. Dylan Morris took the loss in goal, making a save over 106 minutes.
