Alec lettered in golf all four years at Glenoak High School, captaining the team three out of the four years. He was Honorable Mention All-Federal League and All-Stark County as a freshman. As a sophomore, he was Second Team All-Federal League, First Team All-Stark County, and Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio. During his junior year, he was Honorable Mention All-Federal League, First Team All-Stark County, and Honorable Mention All-Northeast Ohio. Finally, as a senior, Alec was First Team All-Federal League, First Team All-Stark County, Second Team All-Northeast Ohio, and was named Best of Stark County All-Star Preps.
