Findlay Pulls Away in Second Half to Defeat Tiffin

FINDLAY, Ohio - Tiffin men's basketball started well on the road at GMAC power Findlay as the Dragons and Oilers went into halftime tied at 41, but Findlay pulled away in the second half for a 93-75 win on Saturday afternoon.

Midway through the first half, the Dragons grabbed a five-point lead, 24-19, on a Jairus Stevens jumper. Findlay countered with a 19-4 run however to take a 10-point lead, 38-28, with just over five minutes to play in the period.

Tiffin showed great resilience over the rest of the half though, outscoring the Oilers 13-3 to even the score heading into the break. Eric Turner had a pair of threes and Brevin Brimble added a triple during the run, which was capped by Trent Williams picking off a lazy Findlay pass and Thomas Hickman converting a tough layup with two seconds left.

The Dragons hung with the Oilers to begin the second half, but a run midway through the period gave Findlay a 13 point lead with just under 12 minutes to play. Tiffin did not have another run in them, as the Oilers earned the 18-point win.

Brevin Brimble led the Dragons in scoring with 22 points on 6-10 shooting from deep while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out six assists.

Thomas Hickman was next with 14 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Trent Williams tallied 10 points and six assists.

Tiffin returns home next Thursday to face Ohio Valley at 7:30 p.m.
