Stevens Earns GMAC Player of the Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) has released the basketball weekly award winners for Nov. 11-17, and Tiffin junior Jairus Stevens has earned Men's Player of the Week honors.

Stevens helped Tiffin to a pair of victories in the non-conference slate vs. Wright State-Lake and Salem.

The junior averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting over 57 percent from the field.

Stevens has established himself among the league's top five leading scorers so far this season.

The Dragons' offense was in sync vs. Wright State-Lake while erupting for 127 points. Seven different players would wind up scoring in double-figures, including five from a reserve role.

Stevens tied for the team lead in scoring with Jamaal Clifton with 18 points. The junior did his damage in just 15 minutes on the floor as he shot 8-of-14 and grabbed nine rebounds, four on the offensive glass.

In a close finish on the road at Salem, Stevens produced a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Again, he was efficient from the field, making 8-of-14 shots and made a pair of threes.

In four games, Stevens is averaging 20.5 points and eight rebounds per game so far.
