Series History:

Tiffin and Cedarville have played 80 times in program histories, and the series is nearly a deadlock as the Yellow Jackets lead by a slim 41-39 margin. Earlier this season on Dec. 14, the Dragons were nearly able to overcome a 15-point halftime defict and shock the Yellow Jackets in the Gillmor, tying the score at 85 with 44 seconds to play, but Cedarville was able to hold on for a 91-89 win. Joshua Williams recorded a career-high 34 points to lead Tiffin, while Shane Waldon added a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Conner TenHove starred for Cedarville, putting up 28 points on 10-17 shooting from the field, 3-5 from deep, and a perfect 5-5 from the line.

Dragon Details:

Tiffin still has life in the fight for the postseason, as they trail current eighth-place Alderson Broaddus by three games, with Tiffin having four games remaining and the Battlers six. Included in those final games is what looks to be a critical matchup at AB in the final weekend of the regular season on Feb. 28.

The Dragons' most recent outing definitely helped keep those hopes alive, as they defeated Kentucky Wesleyan (currently in ninth) 85-81 last Saturday. In the contest, Thomas Hickman registered a career-high 20 points, while four other Dragons were in double figures.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets:

Cedarville enters the week fourth in the conference with a record of 11-5 and are knocking on the door of clinching a postseason berth of their own, having won six of their last eight games. The Yellow Jackets' strength is on the offensive end, as they rank fourth in the conference with 77.6 points per game, third with a 47.0 field goal percentage, and lead with a 39.8 three-point percentage. Conner Tenhove is currently ninth in the G-MAC in scoring (15.9 ppg), 12th in rebounding (6.7 rpg), and leads at 48.0% from deep. Grant Zawadzki is one of the better point guards in the conference, leading with 6.4 assists per game and ranking third with 1.8 steals per contest.

Record Watch:

Senior big man Shane Waldon is hovering around the top-five of the Tiffin men's basketball single-season field goal percentage records, as his current mark of 60.1% is fifth, with the record being 66.4% set by Rich Torrence during the 1992-93 season. Despite playing just three seasons in a Dragon uniform, Austin Adams has moved into tenth all-time at TU in career rebounding with 601 boards, 35 away from ninth-place. Adams is also on track to finish near the top of the Tiffin career field goal percentage ranks, as the senior currently ranks seventh with a career mark of 54.5% from the field. Joshua Williams has been impressive at getting to the free throw line in his first season with the Dragons, as he is 12 makes and two attempts from entering the single-season top-10 lists at TU.
