Series History:

Tiffin and Trevecca Nazarene have faced each other twice in program histories with the Dragons taking both games, first during the 1972-73 season and latest earlier this year on Dec. 8. In that contest, TU trailed by seven with 6:41 to play, but the Dragons finished the game on a 28-12 run to earn a 100-91 victory. Joshua Williams and Austin Schaub each recorded career-highs in points with 31 and 18, respectively, with Schaub also pulling down a career-best six boards.

Tiffin and Kentucky Wesleyan have squared off seven times, with the Panthers taking all seven matchups. The Dragons nearly broke through for a win in the last meeting on Dec. 6 of this season as the teams were tied at 63 with 2:37 remaining, but KWC got to the line four times in that final stretch and made all eight free throws to take a 71-67 win. Williams led TU with 19 points, while Austin Adams registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Dragon Details:

Tiffin fell in a pair of tough games on the road last week to Hillsdale and Findlay.

The Dragons held a one-point lead in the final minutes against the Chargers on Thursday, but Hillsdale scored nine unanswered points on their way to an 81-76 win. Adams tallied a game-high 26 points for the Dragons, adding 10 rebounds for the 17th double-double of his TU career. Shane Waldon registered 12 points, all in the second-half, and Williams scored 13 off the bench.

Tiffin ran into a blistering shooting squad in Findlay on Saturday, as the Oilers shot 64.7% from the field and 50% from deep to take a 110-85 winThomas Hickman recorded a career-high 18 points off the bench for the Dragons, while Waldon added 14 points and Adams registered 12 points and seven rebounds.

Scouting the Trojans:

Trevecca Nazarene has experienced struggles throughout the season, coming into Thursday's game last in the G-MAC at 1-11 and 1-16 overall, and having lost seven in a row. The Trojans are a good free-throw shooting team, converting at a 72.1% clip that ranks third in the conference. Evan Ragsdale leads the team with 11.2 points per game, and his 43.4 three-point percentage ranks fifth in the conference. Reed Smith is also seventh with 3.6 assists per game.

Scouting the Panthers:

Kentucky Wesleyan currently sits in ninth in the G-MAC, one spot out of the playoffs, with a 5-7 conference record and 7-11 overall mark. The Panthers are on somewhat of a downward trend, dropping their last three games and five of their last six. KWC's strength is on defense, as they are fourth in the conference with 68.9 points allowed per game, third with opponents shooting 42.9% from the field, and first with opponents shooting 31.6% from deep. The Panthers are also third in the G-MAC with 15.94 assists per game. Adam Goetz is KWC's go-to guy, averaging 14.4 points per game (16th in G-MAC), 3.5 assists per game (8th), 32.7 minutes per game (4th), a 42.6 three-point percentage (7th), and an 85.7 free-throw percentage (4th).

Senior big man Shane Waldon is hovering around the top of the Tiffin men's basketball single-season field goal percentage record, as his current mark of 60.2% is fifth, with the record being 66.4% set by Rich Torrence during the 1992-93 season. Despite playing just three seasons in a Dragon uniform, Austin Adams is 14 rebounds away from entering the TU top-10 in career rebounding. Adams is also on track to finish near the top of the Tiffin career field goal percentage ranks, as the senior currently ranks seventh with a career mark of 54.8% from the field. Joshua Williams has been impressive at getting to the free throw line in his first season with the Dragons, as he is 14 makes and seven attempts from entering the single-season top-10 lists at TU.
