Hickman Nets Career High, Dragons Fall to Oilers

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin men's basketball could not overcome a high-powered No. 14 Findlay squad on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Oilers 110-85.

Thomas Hickman recorded a career-high 18 points off the bench for the Dragons, while Shane Waldon added 14 points and Austin Adams registered 12 points and seven rebounds. Hunter Schmalz also had 10 points to round out the double-figure scoring for TU, who shot 45.8% from both the field and beyond the three-point line.

Findlay's offense was clicking all afternoon, as the Oilers scored 61 points in the first-half and shot 64.7% from the field and 50% from deep in the game. The Dragons were able to gain the advantage in second-chance points (15-12) and fastbreak points (22-18).

Tiffin kept it close for the opening five minutes, as an Adams triple made it 15-13 Oilers at the 15:09 mark. However, Findlay scored nine unanswered to take an 11-point lead three minutes later.

Hickman cut the deficit to six, 28-22, with a layup at the 10:21 mark, but Findlay went on a 33-14 run over the rest of the period to take a 61-36 lead at halftime.

The Dragons would trail by as much as 32 points before it was over, as the Oilers took the 25-point win.

Tiffin will look to bounce back as they head south next weekend to take on Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.
