Men's Basketball Inks Williams and Caryer

Trent Williams and Ashton Caryer have announced their intentions to continue their athletic and academic careers at Tiffin University.

Williams is a 6'0" guard out of Solon High School in Solon, Ohio. He holds the school record for made three-pointers in a game and season, and has been named first team all-district, first team all conference, and all state honorable mention during his high school career. This season, Williams currently leads the state in most three-pointers made and is nearing his 1000th career point. In 2017-18, his high school team was the OHSAA Division I state runner-up, as well as winning the district championship twice during his career.

On why he chose Tiffin University, Williams said "I chose Tiffin because our of all the schools recruiting me, they showed the most love and wanted me the most. The coaches were very connected and honest with me."

"Trent has every quality we were looking for in a student-athlete and we couldn't be happier to make him a Dragon," said Tiffin head coach Tom Church. "He's an incredible shooter that can defend and attack the rim and more importantly he comes to us from a winning program."

Caryer is a 6'7" forward out of Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon, Ohio. Over the past two seasons, he has played an integral part in his high school's 44-7 record, and will provide valuable height and depth at the forward position for the Dragons.

"I love everything about Tiffin University," said Caryer. "TU has the family atmosphere among their team that I was looking for."

"Signing Ashton gives us the chance to build for the present and for the future," said Church. "He is a 6'7" forward who can run, has great mobility and plays above the rim.  We look forward to developing Ashton and we are excited for what the future holds for him."
