The Tiffin University men's basketball team overcame a 14-point 2nd half deficit to defeat the Purdue Northwest Pride 61-58. The Dragons led for only a little over a minute in the game, but fought their way ahead via a devastating full-court press.

The Pride started the game well, jumping out to a 18-10 lead with 11:37 remaining. Tiffin fought back and pulled to within a bucket at 24-22 with a Quentin Jones triple with 07:20 left before the half. The Pride kept Tiffin at a distance for the remainder of the half, finishing the half on a 9-4 run to take a 33-26 to the halftime locker room. 

The Dragons had trouble controlling the paint in the half, allowing the Pride 20 points in the low post. Quentin Jones was Tiffin's saving grace in the half, coming off the bench to score 10 points on 4 for 4 shooting from the field.

Purdue Northwest continued to pester the Dragons, pushing their lead to its largest at 54-40 with 05:51 left in regulation. Tiffin flipped the script on Purdue Northwest, using a devastating full court press to fight their way back into the game. The Dragons forced the Pride into seven 2nd half miscues, and down the stretch those mistakes were amplified. With a pair of Austin Adams free throws Tiffin cut their deficit to 58-55 with 01:38 left. A turnover and layup by Adams made it a one point ball game with 01:25 remaining. A quick steal by Austin Schaub led to a layup that enabled Tiffin to take their first lead of the game at 59-58. After a pair of Adams' free throws made it 61-58, Tiffin held their own on the defensive end to secure their sixth win of the year.

Austin Adams led the charge for Tiffin, scoring 19 points and snagging 8 boards. Quentin Jones poured in a season high 16 points on 5 of 8 shooting and grabbed five boards. Alex Brown and Austin Schaub were key contributors for Tiffin, each netting nine points.

The win moves Tiffin to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in the GLIAC. The Dragons have won 4 of their last five games and will host Grand Valley State on Saturday.
