Chargers Bounce Dragons 80-62

The Tiffin University men's basketball team suffered their third consecutive loss on Saturday, falling to the Hillsdale Chargers 80-62.

Tiffin took the lead with a Juwan Johnson three pointer just seconds into the contest, but then it became the Stedman Lowry show. The Chargers guard hit four triples in a four minute stretch to give Hillsdale a 13-3 lead. Tiffin tried to keep pace, but Lowry was scorching from three, going 7 for 7 in the half, and pouring in 23 of the Chargers 44 1st half points. Tiffin struggled from the floor, scoring 30 points on 36.4% shooting, and went only 2 of 9 from three.

Tiffin, trailing 44-30 as the 2nd half began, couldn't cut their deficit to any less than 12 as the Chargers' efficiency carried over into the 2nd half. Tiffin had trouble with the Chargers size, having 10 shots blocked, and getting to the foul stripe only 18 times. On the flip side, Hillsdale hit 24 of 28 free throws, and made six more triples than the Dragons, adding up to a 80-62 Dragon defeat.

Tiffin was led by Alex Brown with 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting. Brandon Wilkins came off the bench to score 13 points and grab 8 rebounds. Austin Adams' streak of double-doubles came to an end, as he chipped in with 10 points and 6 boards.

Tiffin falls to 8-10 overall and 4-7 in GLIAC play.
