Three new teams will be competing in the Great Lakes Esports Conference this year.

In collaboration with colleges and universities in the region, Tiffin University's Esports program will continue competing in the Great Lakes Esports Conference (GLEC), with three new teams joining the conference for the 2020-21 season.

The three new additions are Bethel University, Grace College, and Manchester University. That brings the total conference membership to 12 schools across Ohio and Indiana competing in League of Legends, Overwatch, Counter Strike, and Rocket League.

The inaugural GLEC schools in 2019-20 were Defiance College, Lourdes University, Marietta College, University of Mount Union, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Muskingum University, Ohio Northern University, Tiffin University, and Trine University. They play a six-week fall schedule on Saturdays from Sept. 12 through Oct. 24. A similar schedule is expected for a spring season.

"It has been great adding Grace, Manchester and Bethel to the GLEC this year," said Head Coach Chalin Cahlik "We, as a conference, have been looking to expand and we knew these teams would be the best addition.  Having more schools add esports in our area is important for the growth and development of our program and collegiate esports as a whole.  I am excited to welcome them to the conference and looking forward to competing against them this fall!"
