Dragons Hunt team takes 5th on day one

The Tiffin University Equestrian Hunt Team competed in their first horse show double header on September 15th/16th held by Wilmington College at Miami University.

Starting off the Saturday show with Intermediate Over Fences, Rebecca McCrea had a beautiful course.  Carolyn McCurrach left her class with 5th place and  Paige McCaslin left with 6th place. In Novice Fences, Lindsey Weiser rode hard in her class, Sydney Cox earned a 2nd place, Junior Melissa Macechko came  in 4th which earned her a place in the regional finals, and Devyn Hennessey came in 6th.

In Open Flat Rebecca McCrea earned 4th place. Paige McCaslin left her class with 6th place in Intermediate Flat. In the Novice Flat, Lindsay Weiser earned the first blue ribbon of the season for the Dragons, Devyn Hennessey came in 3rd place, Sydney Cox 4th, and Melissa Macechko also earned a 4th. In the Walk/Trot/Canter division, Senior Morgan Hixenbaugh scored a 2nd place, Freshman Melody Lozano came in 3rd place, Calysta Herniter and Freshman Bridget Webber came in 5th; Kaitlyn Borer, Madeline Powers, and Freshman Bailey Wells came in 6th place, and Emily Boersen rode with pride.

The Dragons finished the show day 5th out of 6 in team points. Ohio University earned the team win, followed by Otterbein University,the Ohio State University, and the University of Dayton.
