Orr's All-Star Selection Highlighting Baseball's Summer League Performances

Tiffin baseball has multiple Dragons representing TU in summer leagues, led by GMAC First Team Selection Cody Orr, who was just chosen as a Prospect League All-Star.

Orr is one of five members of the Chillicothe Paints to receive an invitation to play in the game, which will be held at the Corn Crib in Normal, Ill. on July 23.

Orr finished his sophomore season on fire, and has not let up in summer ball. He has appeared in 33 of 41 games for the Paints this season, six as a starting pitcher and 27 in the batting order. His 2.96 ERA would rank among the league leaders, but Orr falls a few innings short of qualifying. Over 27 1/3 innings, the right-hander has allowed nine earned runs on 23 hits, striking out 18 and walking seven. Until his last start, Orr's ERA was 1.37. As a batter, typically the Paints' leadoff hitter and centerfielder, Orr is hitting .354, which is good enough for sixth in the Prospect League. His seven triples lead the league, he's third in the league in on-base percentage at .492, his 16 stolen bases (on 17 attempts) rank fourth, he's tied for ninth in walks with 25 and ranks 10th in slugging at .626.

The Dragons also have a pair of teammates playing for the Moose Jaw Miller Express of the Western Canadian Baseball League in pitcher Michael Ross and infielder Zach Campbell. Ross has been impressive on the mound, compiling a 5-1 record and a 2.63 ERA in 13 games (four starts) with a save, a complete game, 41.0 innings pitched, 39 strikeouts, and just seven walks. Campbell has seen plenty of action on the field, appearing in 30 games with 110 at-bats for the Express. He has tallied 12 runs, 20 hits, two doubles, seven RBI, and three stolen bases.

Michael Boswell has returned from an injury-sidelined spring 2019 season at TU to be an effective pitcher for the High Point-Thomasville HiToms of the Coastal Plain League. Boswell has appeared in seven games with four starts, registering a 7.48 ERA in 21.2 innings with 31 strikeouts and a 12.88 strikeouts per nine innings ratio.

Tiffin has two athletes playing in the Dallas Metro Scout League with Kole Klasic (Texas Giants) and Gunnar Boehm (Weatherford Rubberducks). Nich Green is also a member of the Jupiter Wave of the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches. Several other Dragons are also participating in local leagues in various cities around the country.
