Dragon Details:

  • Tiffin enters the postseason on a high note after taking three of four from Walsh in the final weekend of the regular season to jump from ninth to seventh in the conference standings and earn a berth to the championships. In the four-game set against the Cavaliers, the Dragons outscored Walsh 33-18 and knocked 50 hits, 14 for extra bases (nine doubles, five home runs).
  • Zach Campbell continues to lead the team with a .362 batting average and 18 doubles, a mark that is also tied for second in the GMAC.
  • John Heckman is not far behind, hitting .345 and ranking in the top 10 in the conference in four categories - doubles (4th with 17), RBI (tied for 5th with 48), hits (seventh with 60), and slugging percentage (ninth at .603). The senior is also riding a 10-game on-base streak, including hits in eight of his last nine contests, and was named the GMAC Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season.
  • Senior Jack Dennis is second on the team with 29 RBI, and holds a seven-game hit streak entering the postseason.
  • After a slow start to the year, Brayden Callihan has really picked up the pace over the last month, now batting just under .300 and recording a hit in 14 of his last 15 games. He also had an impressive series last week, going 10-18 with seven runs scored and three doubles.
  • Cody Orr remains an impressive dual threat for the Dragons, entering the weekend third on the team with a .310 batting average and leading with 40 runs scored. On the mound, he leads the team in innings pitched (73.1), strikeouts (56), and is tied for wins (4), along with ranking second with a 4.92 ERA. His pitching has gotten better as the season has gone along, as he enters the postseason having allowed one run or less in four of his last five starts and recorded eight or more strikeouts in three of those five, and threw at least five innings in each outing.
  • Aaron George leads the team with a 4.14 ERA in 54.1 innings after 18 appearances primarily out of the bullpen. His last month has been especially strong, only allowing two earned runs in 23.1 innings of work since April 7.
