Dragons Fall to Saint Leo to Open Series

ST. LEO, Fla. - Tiffin baseball got on the board first, but could not hold down the Saint Leo offense on Friday evening as they fell 14-1.

Only three of the Lions' 14 runs were earned, as the Dragons committed six errors in the game that led to a couple of big innings for the home team.

Tiffin threatened first in the top of the second, loading the bases with two outs on two walks and a passed ball on a strikeout. A wild pitch brought home the Dragons' lone run as John Heckman crossed the plate to give TU the early lead.

Saint Leo tallied six runs in each of the next two innings, though, going up 12-1 through three.

Aaron George was able to settle in in relief the rest of the way, only allowing two more runs over the final five frames, but the Dragons managed just two hits in the game and were unable to score and cut into the deficit before the game came to a close.

Game two of the three-game set with the Lions is set for tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
