Offensive Struggles Doom Dragons against Embry-Riddle

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Tiffin baseball got on the scoreboard first, but Embry-Riddle defeated the Dragons 10-1 on Tuesday night.

After Michael Ross set down the Eagles in the top of the first inning, Brayden Callihan led off the bottom of the frame with a triple down the left field line. Jack Dennis stepped to the plate next, and belted a double to the gap in right center to score Callihan.

The Dragon bats fell silent after that, though, as Embry-Riddle starter Troy Naab only allowed one baserunner on a hit-by-pitch in the fifth over the course of the next seven innings.

Meanwhile, the Eagles scored in six of those seven innings, taking a 10-1 lead through eight.

Tiffin managed to get a pair of runners on base in the bottom of the ninth on two walks, but could not push across any runs.

The Dragons will continue their Florida swing with Winona State on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
