Tiffin Baseball Selected Eighth in G-MAC Preseason Poll

Tiffin University baseball has been picked eighth in the 2019 G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.

Prior to their inaugural venture into the G-MAC, the Dragons totaled 72 points, just five behind seventh-place Findlay. Ohio Dominican was selected to win the conference with 136 points and seven first-place votes, followed by Kentucky Wesleyan (130 pts, 4 FPV), Hillsdale (120 pts, 1 FPV), Malone (105 pts, 1 FPV), and Trevecca Nazarene (101 pts). Walsh rounded out the top six with 93 points in the poll.

Thirteen schools were considered by the league's coaches in the balloting with eight teams vying for a chance at the postseason. With four different teams receiving a first-place vote, the race is bound to be exciting down the stretch.

Entering the postseason last year, Ohio Dominican (36-17 overall, 18-7 G-MAC) and Kentucky Wesleyan (32-21, 17-9) were the top seeds in the North and South Divisions, respectively, but it was North 3-seed Hillsdale (26-30, 17-10) that came away with the G-MAC Tournament Championship.

The Dragons, led by returning All-GLIAC outfielder Brayden Callihan, open their season Feb. 16 and 17 with a three-game set at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, W.Va. For their complete schedule, click HERE.
