Carolyn McCurrach (So.), Equestrian:
 McCurrach competed at IHSA Hunt Seat Zones on April 8th at Findlay, winning the Reserve Championship for Individual Novice Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences. The achievement qualified her for Hunt Seat Nationals. She serves as a co-captain for the team and will be a captain again next year.

Kevin Borst (Sr.), Baseball:
 Borst is the TU All Time single season saves leader with 11 and is chasing the career record as well. He also leads the GLIAC in saves and was an Honorable Mention All GLIAC selection. He also serves as a youth travel coach and continues to work with organizations in the St. Charles (Ill.) area.

Emily Sim (Fr.), Women's Tennis:
Sim is 11-0 in GLIAC play and 9-2 in doubles play. She has an overall record of 19-4 and has helped lead the team to a 19-3 record. The team is ranked third in the region and 42nd in the nation. She has also helped in the community at the St. Francis Christmas nativity tours. She is majoring in International Business.

Garrett Gray (Sr.), Wrestling:
LGarrett finished his Dragons career with a 136-15 record, winning the NCAA Division II 285 pound national championship. He also won the Most Pins award this year along with his third Super Region 2 title. He finished second in the Most Dominant Wrestler awards. He serves as a tutor and also helps on the youth wrestling circuit. He is majoring in Homeland Security/Terrorism.

Ali Schirmer (So.), Women's Basketball: 
Ali was one of the top women's basketball players in February, totaling 18 points against both Ashland and Findlay while scoring 20 points with 5 rebounds against Hillsdale. She is also a member of the Psychology Club. She is majoring in Exercise Science.

Luke Fraley (Jr.), Baseball: 
Luke posted two wins in Florida for the Dragons, He has a 1.17 ERA, has allowed only 2 earned runs and leads the team with 13 stikeouts. He is a Peer Mentor, a Student Ambassador, and works in Student Affairs and in the Game Room. He is majoring in Education.

January

 

Rachael Dowczek (So.), Equestrian: Rachael enjoyed a strong riding season, achieving the unique distinction of becoming a triple Regional Qualifier during the 2016-17 season. She also serves as a Resident Assistant in the Student Life Office.

Khaleal McCormick (Sr.), Men's Basketball: Khaleal led the men's basketball team in December by averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds per game, including 22 points and 10 rebounds per game in an upset of then-top ranked Saginaw Valley State. He is also a member of SAAC and serves as a tutor during study sessions.

Monica Carson (Jr.), Women's Track and Field: 
Carson had an indoor personal best in the shot put, just missing the NCAA provisional mark. She is currently 6th overall in the GLIAC. She is a SAAC member and is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Coy Blair (Sr.), Men's Track and Field: Coy has hit multiple provisional marks already in the indoor season to qualify for NCAA Nationals. He was first in the weight throw at the Indiana Hoosier Open, first in the shot put at the Tiffin Alumni Open, and is currently leading Division II in the shot put and 2nd in the weight throw. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

November

 

Deidre McKay (Sr.), Women's Basketball: McKay was one of the top players for the Lady Dragons basketball team, posting game highs of 11 points against Indianapolis, 7 assists against Davis & Elkins, and 6 rebounds against Cedarville. She also works as an intramural referee.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Antonio Pipkin (Sr.), Football:  Pipkin led the football team to three straight wins to close the season as they finished 8-3. He became only the third player in Division II history to rush for 2000 yards and pass for 10,000 in a career. In his final game he set a new single game record with a .930 completion percentage and totaled 497 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also played a large role in the Dragon Buddy program, helping host a less fortunate child for a home game. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

October

 

Sarah Herb (Jr.), Women's Golf:  Herb has had 2 Top 20 finishes this fall, finishing the fall season with a 78 average. She is a four-time Marathon Scholar Athlete Honor Roll honoree, a member of SAAC, has worked with Make-A-Wish and other charities for three seasons, reads for local youths at elementary schools, and is a member of the Business club.

Jay Green (Jr.), Men's Golf: Green is one of the top 5 golfers in the GLIAC with a 73 average. He finished 4th at the Kyle Ryman Memorial, earning All-Tourney honors and shooting a low round of 68. He was Top 25 at the Midwest Regional and was 3rd amongst D2 golfers at Travecca Nazarene. He is a SAAC rep, is Treasurer of the Exercise Science club, and works in the community and helps DMR Jr. Golf.

September

Emily Weithman (So.), Volleyball:  Weithman has been the starting setter for the last two seasons and is ranked in the top 10 in the GLIAC in assists. She is the on-court captain of the offense and also spends time helping the elderly and coaching at Black Swamp Volleyball Club.

James Ngandu (Sr.), Men's Cross Country: Ngandu has had another dominant season, as he is undefeated so far this season. He was first out of 300 runners at the All-Ohio Championships, beating Ohio State, while also beating 135 runners at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. He also won the Bluffton Invitational.
