Hasenstab netted a hat trick on Saturday in Tiffin’s 3-0 win over Illinois Springfield to get the Dragons their first win of the 2019 campaign.
Hasenstab, a graduate student from Germany, led the team with six shots on target and converted three of them for a 50 percent conversion rate as well as accounting for six points for the Dragons.
Hasenstab’s first goal came within the first four minutes of the game while the other two goals came in the second half.
The Dragons outshot Illinois Springfield, 11–7, (7-3) for the game.
A Great Midwest All-Conference Team honorable mention selection in 2018, Hasenstab is already two goals away from tying his season total from 2018. He also led the Dragons in assists a year ago and will look to continue to provide opportunities for his teammates as the season continues.
This is his second career conference player of the week award after helping TU win a conference title in 2018.
The No. 18 Dragons will next travel to No. 19 Saginaw Valley State on Friday, September 13.
